Rushworth trainer Pia Triaca may not be a big name in greyhound racing circles, however she turned heads when her greyhound Legend won a heat of the Shepparton Cup on Monday night.
Legend, a former Queenslander, paid a whopping $39.50 in the fourth heat, with his winning time of 25.27sec being faster than the three previous heat winners – group race regulars Dalgetty, Dewana Result and Big Ticket.
The fastest time of the night eventually went the way of Aston Bolero (pictured) in the fifth and final heat, when he clocked 25.06sec in his 17th win from just 27 starts.
Aston Bolero was one of three heat winners for Pearcedale trainer, Jason Thompson.
