The Group 2 CKH Painting Shepparton Cup will host the return of the highly-talented Dewana Result on Monday night.
The Warragul track-record holder and TAB Great Chase finalist has been out of action for some three months after sustaining an injury in the Cranbourne Puppy Classic final.
Trained by Brendan Dewan of Edithvale, the son of Cosmic Rumble and Wildcard Lass has been busy while away from the track – even having some time at stud – but his trainer knows the greyhound will be happiest when on the track.
“We’re really looking forward to having him back on the track. He has been running near record time in his trials.”
“He may be just short of a run heading into Monday’s heats but I’m quietly confident he will race well.”
Dewana Result’s temperament continues to be one of his best attributes according to the trainer.
“He’s just a dream greyhound. He is the most placid dog you’ve ever seen and nothing phases him.”
He will have to contend with up-and-coming Armed and Ready in heat two (race five) of the Shepparton Cup. Armed and Ready ran a brilliant 25.577 seconds at Warragul last week and is trained by Brendan Dewan’s great mate, Darren McDonald.
Other notable runners in the six heats are; Warragul Cup winner Ronray Spirit, dual country cup champ Luca Neveelk and Melbourne Cup winner Dyna Villa – just to name a few.
